LO\VER KOOTENA Y I~DIA~ BA~D BYLA \V 1\0.2004 TX-Ol WHEREAS pursuant to subsection 83( I) of the Indian Act, the Council of.1 Band may make bylaws for the purpose clf taxation for local purposes of land or interests in land including the rights to occupy. possess or use lands \vithin the boundaries of the Reserve and with respect to any matters arising out of or ancillary to such purpose: A~D \VHEREAS the Council of the Lower Kootenay Indian Band enacted the Lower Kootenay Indian Band Taxation and Assessment B:yla\vs on March 09, 1992. ~O\V BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the following bylaw be and is hereby enacted pursuant to the provisions of the Indian Act and in particular section 83( I) for thc purpose of estab lishing annual rales of taxation. I. This bylaw may be cited for all purposes as the Lower Kootenay' Indian Band 2004 Rates By·taw. 1 Pursuant to section 24 ofthc Lo\ver Kootenay Indian Band TJ.xation Byla\v, the ratcs for each class of property shall be in accordanct' with Schedule "A" which is attached and forms part of the 2004 Rates Bylaw.
