CERTIFICATION Pursuant to Section 86, Indian Act RSC 1985 C .1-5 and amendments thereto, I certify that the attached copy of the Kwaw Kwaw Apilt First Nation Rates By-law Number 1-1997 dated 27 May 1997 is a true copy of the said by-law . Minister of Indian Affairs Ministre des Affaires and Northern Development indiennes et du Nord canadien Ottawa, Canada K1AOH4 1, the Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development, HEREBY APPROVE, pursuant to section 83 of the Indian Act, the following bylaw made by the Kwaw Kwaw Apilt First Nation, in the Province of British Columbia, at a meeting held on the 2711 day of May, 1997 . Rates Bylaw 1-1997 AAW&ze Dated at Ottawa, Ontario this A~ O'~ 'day of~~ 1997.
The Kwaw Kwaw Apilt First Nation in accordance with Part 3 of the Kwaw Kwaw Apilt Property Taxation Bylaw Amendment 1-1995 enacts the following bylaw : 1 . This bylaw may be cited for all purposes as the "Rates Bylaw 1997". 2 . The following rates are hereby imposed and levied for the year 1997: a. For school purposes on the assessed value of land and improvements taxable for school district purposes, rates appearing in Row "1" of Schedule "A" attached hereto and forming a part hereof ; b . For all general municipal services on the assessed value of land and improvements taxable for general municipal purposes, rates appearing in Row "2" of Schedule "A" attached hereto and forming a part hereof; c . For transit services on the assessed value of land and improvements taxable for regional hospital district purposes, rates appearing in Row "3" of Schedule "A" attached hereto and forming a part hereof ; d . For dyking purposes on the assessed value of land and improvements taxable for general municipal purposes, rates appearing in Row "4" of Schedule "A" attached hereto and forming a part hereof ; e . For drainage purposes on the assessed value of land and improvements taxable for general municipal purposes, rates appearing in Row "5" of Schedule "A" attached hereto and forming a part hereof; f. For hospital purposes on the assessed value of land and improvements taxable for regional hospital district purposes, rates appearing in Row "6" of Schedule "A" attached hereto and forming a part hereof ; 9. For purposes of the assessed value of land and improvementstaxable for the Fraser valley Regional District for general purposes, rates appearing in Row "7" of Schedule "A" attached hereto and forming a part hereof ; h. For purposes of the British Columbia Assessment Authority on the assessed value of land and improvements taxable for general municipal purposes, rates appearing in Row "8" of Schedule "A" attached hereto and forming a part hereof ; 3. A water parcel tax of $40.00 shall be Charged to all properties using the water services of the District of Chilliwack . 4. The said rates are due and payable from the first day of January, 1997 . Approved 'by the Kwaw Kwaw Apilt First Nation, as represented by its duly elected Chief, this -__02 7 -A-- day of May, 1997 .

The Kwaw Kwaw Apilt First Nation in accordance with Part 3 of the Kwaw Kwaw Apilt Property Taxation Bylaw Amendment 1-1995 enacts the following bylaw: 1 . This bylaw may be cited for all purposes as the "Exemption Bylaw 1997" . a . Any person having property assessed by the head assessor pursuant to the Kwaw Kwaw Apilt First Nation Property Assessment Bylaw Amendment 1-1995 (the "Assessment Bylaw) as being in Class 5 (Light Industry) or Class 6 (Business/Other) shall be exempt from the payment of taxes in an amount equivalent to the gross assessed value of improvements being $10,000.00 less than as stated in the roll authenticated pursuant to the Assessment Bylaw .
