Minister of Indian Affairs Ministre des Affaires and Northern Development indierines et du Nord canadien Ottawa, Canada K1 A OW I, the Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development, HEREBY APPROVE, pursuant to section 83 of the Indian Act, the following bylaw made by the Alexis First Nation, in the Province of Alberta, at a meeting held on the 9th day of May 2000. Alexis First Nation 2000 Tax Rates Bylaw Dated -at Ottawa, Ontario this 2/ day of ,D 2000 .
Alexis First Nation 2000 Tax Rates Bylaw WHEREAS pursuant to subsection 83(1)(a) of the Indian Act, R .S .C . 1985, c.1-5, the Council of a band may make bylaws for the purpose of taxation for local purposes of land, or interests in land, including rights to occupy, possess or use land in a reserve and with respect to any matters arising out of or ancillary to such purpose; AND WHEREAS the Council of the Alexis First Nation enacted the Alexis First Nation Property Tax Bylaw on July 27, 1999 ; NOW BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the following bylaw be and is hereby enacted pursuant to the provisions of the Indian Act and in particular section 83(1) for the purpose of establishing annual rates of taxation . 1 . This bylaw may be cited for all purposes as the Alexis First Nation 2000 Tax Rates Bylaw . 2 . Pursuant to section 5 of the Alexis First Nation Property Tax Bylaw, the rate of tax applied against each $1,000 .00 of the assessed value of property shall be : In Reserve No1. 33 : a . For machinery and equipment 1 .6425% b.For property other than machinery and equipment 2 .5054% In Reserve No. 232: c . For machinery and equipment 0.5776% d. For property other than machinery and equipment 1 .50364% This bylaw is hereby enacted by Council at a duly convened meeting held on the day of `~72Zffd;~,Z , 2000.
